Choosing booking software is a bigger decision than it looks. Your staff will use it every day, your customers will meet it, and your revenue records will live in it. Here is a checklist for comparing options, whether you run a spa, salon, gym, tattoo studio or clinic.

1. Does it stop double-bookings?

This is the basic test. Ask how the system stops two bookings for the same person, room or time. A calendar that only displays bookings is not enough; it should refuse clashes.

2. Does it handle more than one branch?

Even if you have one branch today, ask what happens at two or three. Can the owner see everything in one place? Can staff move between branches?

3. Does it handle staff, not just time slots?

Service businesses book people. The system should know which therapist, stylist, artist or trainer is booked, and their availability.

4. How does it deal with money?

Look for payment tracking by method – cash, card and online – part-payments, and a daily close that you can trust. Ask how discounts are controlled.

5. Who can see and change what?

Owners, managers and front desk need different access. Role-based permissions protect your data and your margins.

6. Does it fit how you actually work in Nepal?

Ask about the payment methods you use, the languages your team speaks, and what support looks like locally. Check what is genuinely supported today, not what is promised for later.

7. How hard is it to start?

Ask how long onboarding takes, whether your existing bookings can be moved over, and what support you get. Then ask for a demo with your own services and branches.
